Y STRAP DECOMPRESSION TREATMENT
Performing the Y Strap adjustment is more complicated than it looks. We can’t simply “pull” your spine apart when it’s cold. Just like working out, we like to warm up the areas prior to the adjustment and using the Y strap. Below you will find our treatment protocol for the Y Strap Decompression Treatment. Most treatments take approximately 30 minutes.
STEP 1: Intersegmental Traction or Hydromassage
Intersegmental traction is a powerful and effective tool in aiding any spine issues. By using a traction table, we help mobilize the different areas of your spine to favor the Y Strap Decompression Treatment. The table allows muscles and ligaments to stretch out fully, which in turn promotes the flow of cerebrospinal fluid between the discs — a process that carries healing nutrients to the whole spine while reducing degeneration of the discs.
Hydromassage can help promote a feeling of wellbeing. Using a Hydromassage bed prior to the Y Strap Decompression Treatment helps provide temporary relief of minor aches and pains, reduces the level of stress and anxiety, deep relaxation provides a feeling of well-being, increase circulation and warmth to the local areas where massaged and relieves muscle soreness, stiffness, and tension.
STEP 2: FULL SPINE ADJUSTMENT
Next, we need to make sure there are no rotational tension in your spine. To do this, we will deliver a full spine adjustment to ensure proper motion in the spine before we move onto the Y Strap treatment. We use manual adjusting, drop table, Arthostimulation adjustment or a combination of techniques.
STEP 3: Y STRAP ADJUSTMENT
After all of this, it is finally time for the Y Strap. Similar to the videos on YouTube, we will have you on an adjusting table while we do it.
The Y Strap is a device that is fitted around the base of the skull/chin that allows for the spine to be stretched. This type of “stretch” is called spinal traction. In other words, the Y Strap allows us to “pull apart” the segments in your spine to release any tension within them. A quick pull at the perfect time to achieve the desired results is performed to the patient's tolerance.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE ADJUSTMENT?
Following the Y Strap Decompression Adjustment some soreness may be felt for a day or two, we recommend using ice or one of our CBD topicals which works amazing for the soreness. We also recommend staying hydrated and avoiding any excessive movements of your neck and back.
DO I NEED TO COME BACK?
Recommendations are offered, if you suffered an injury to your body, which led you to seek out the Y Strap, you will most likely need additional treatment. Every situation is different. If you are coming in for general compression issues from every-day life, you can probably get away with a Y Strap Treatment on an as-needed basis.
